Contemporary Realistic Painter

Elise Gold Sewall is a fine artist working in the medium of oil and has a keen interest in transparency, reflection, and color.

Elise has shown and been recognized in juried shows internationally and at a state and local level.

After college she moved to N.Y.C to pursue her life as a painter and began designing for the jewelry industry. 25 years later Elise began to devote all her time to her painting. 

After years of primarily painting portraits and landscapes recently Elise has begun concentrating on still lifes. 

"...Light, color and reflection are the key areas I was exploring in these paintings. Simply composed, unassuming commonplace objects that I take for granted became fascinating and beautiful. I’ve become very interested in the subtleties of color that show up in shadows and what’s reflected from one object to another.

As a contemporary figurative oil painter I’ve always looked for the line between the world as it exists and the beauty that it can show us..."
